Two great venues to choose from:
Howell Woods Environmental Learning Center
With more than 2,800 acres of pine and hardwood forest, open land, ponds and wetlands, Howell Woods is an educational nature preserve in southern Johnston County and within an hour of the Research Triangle Park. The late businessman and philanthropist Rudolph Howell donated the property to Johnston Community College, which uses it for instruction and educational research.
Cool Springs Environmental Education Center
This scenic 1,700 acre preserve, developed by Weyerhaeuser Company, is located near New Bern, NC along the shores of the Neuse River and Swift Creek. Stands of breezy tall pines give way to deep cypress swamps. Cool Springs is used as an outdoor education center.
At either location, programs may be conducted in a classroom environment or in an outdoor pavilion.
Miles of forest trails beckon our off-road Segways for guided exploration, bird-watching and innovative leadership activities. |
